About the Classes

Mondays · 18:30–20:30
The New Actors Centre, The Marylebone Theatre

Mixed Martial Arts for Actors & Creatives
Learn real striking and grappling, and the biomechanics behind them: boxing and kickboxing, plus grappling drills that teach you to fall and wrestle safely. Ideal if you’re a performer interested in action and stunts, or a creative who wants to get fit. All levels welcome.

Thursdays · Rivals Boxing Gym, King’s Cross

18:00–19:00 · Mixed Martial Arts for Actors & Creatives
The same striking and grappling foundations as Monday’s class: boxing, kickboxing and safe falls and takedowns, taught with performance in mind.

19:00–20:00 · Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (all levels, beginners welcome)
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a grappling martial art: taking your opponent to the ground, then controlling or submitting them. It’s a great way to understand your body and learn to breathe under pressure.

Why Train Every Week?

Fight skills are like any other part of a performer’s toolkit — they only stay sharp with regular practice. Training every week helps you:

  • Walk into the room ready. Arrive at auditions, rehearsals and set confident with combat, a real advantage when a role calls for it.
  • Build control and body awareness. Balance, timing and spatial awareness carry into all your movement work.
  • Work safely and commit fully. Learn to protect yourself and your scene partners, so you can play the moment with total conviction.
  • Tell the story through the fight. Discover how the way a character fights reveals who they are, deepening your physical choices.
  • Grow stamina and focus for demanding runs and long shoot days.
  • Join a community of actors and creatives who share your drive to keep developing the craft.
